Charter and Joe & Bella: A Partnership Fashioned for Independence

Jul 22, 2025

Charter Senior Living is proud to partner with Joe & Bella, a leading adaptive apparel brand redefining fashion for older adults. Rooted in shared values of dignity, innovation and self-expression, this collaboration brings thoughtfully designed clothing to help support our residents’ autonomy—and raised funds for the Alzheimer’s Association’s The Longest Day® campaign.

A Brand That Believes Style Has No Age

At Joe & Bella, the belief is simple: Your needs may change, but your spirit doesn’t. Their adaptive clothing collection is designed for comfort, function and fashion, making it easier for older adults and people with mobility challenges to get dressed without giving up their personal style. Pieces are fashionable and accessible, with features including:

  • Premium stretch fabrics for all-day comfort and ease of movement
  • Discreet magnetic closures that look like traditional buttons
  • Side-zip options for simpler, seated dressing
  • Elastic cuffs to eliminate the need for buttons

Joe & Bella helps seniors preserve independence and celebrate self-expression. These values align perfectly with Charter’s mission to enhance the human spirit for every resident, every day.

“Our partnership with Joe & Bella reflects what Charter is all about,” says Amber Dahle, Vice President of Memory Care and Resident Programming. “We’re constantly exploring new ways to support resident independence and comfort, and clothing is such a deeply personal part of that. This is just one example of how innovation can make a real difference in people’s lives.”

Style on the Runway: A Resident Fashion Show To Remember

To celebrate the launch of the partnership, Residences at Wellpoint, a Charter Senior Living community, hosted a joyful resident fashion show featuring Joe & Bella’s apparel line. The event brought together residents, families and staff, showcasing how adaptive clothing can boost confidence, support independence, and strengthen community bonds.

Residents lit up the runway, modeling the clothing and radiating confidence, joy and pride.

“Seeing our residents shine during the fashion show was unforgettable,” said Allison Yancey, Executive Director at Residences at Wellpoint. “They weren’t just wearing beautiful clothes—they were feeling empowered, dignified and seen.”

“Clothing is more than just fabric—it’s a powerful expression of identity,” said Amber Dahle, Vice President of Memory Care and Resident Programming at Charter Senior Living. “This event was a reflection of our mission to enhance the human spirit. Through this partnership, we’re helping residents maintain their sense of self and independence in ways that are as practical as they are profound.”

This special event was a powerful reminder that style and identity matter at every age—and that comfort and function don’t have to come at the cost of self-expression.

Fashion for a Cause: Supporting The Longest Day®

Even more meaningful? This partnership helped to support a cause close to our hearts.
During the months of May and June, Joe & Bella donated 10% of all sales from Charter Senior Living residents and families to Charter’s $250,000 fundraising goal for The Longest Day®, a signature campaign by the Alzheimer’s Association®.

Held annually on the summer solstice, The Longest Day® honors the strength and endurance of those facing Alzheimer’s disease. Individuals and organizations across the country come together to raise funds and awareness through creative, community-driven events.

Charter Senior Living is proud to take part in this campaign every year, and this new partnership adds a powerful dimension to our efforts—helping us raise money while uplifting the lives of residents across our communities.
